Description

HOW IT LOOKS:

after installing the plugin, your admins will gain access to a new panel, where they can create new news articles. Each article has:

  • title
  • brief description (shown on listings and on the main page)
  • new's text
  • icon (represents news on the listings and is shown on news view)

Title, brief description and description are multilingual - your users will see them in language they use (or in case news article is not translated, in language the news was input in)

When editing news, you can use a preview of previously uploaded image, as well as translation panel:

 

There are two mainpage widgets you can use, each can have different set of categories. You can define categories for a given mainpage widget in plugin's settins. If you don't define categories for a given widget, it will display all the news. Those widgets require vazco_mainpage to run:

When you use vazco_entities_carousel, you gain access to a third mainpage widget, which is a carousel of the latest news:

Plugin allows users to subscribe to RSS channel. There is one channel for all the news, regardless of categories.

HOW TO INSTALL:

  • place in mod folder and enable
  • place a widget in vazco_mainpage's settings if you want to have news on your main page
  • define categories in plugin's settings in case you want to use them


Supported Elgg versions: 1.5, 1.6, 1.7

Plugins from Elggdev are often updated for free once newer versions of Elgg is released. This is not a rule though. Some of the less popular plugins will be updated with a delay. You can speed up this process by funding the update.
